Converting Los Angeles time to Tokyo time
Set Los Angeles as the reference city, then enter the local date and time of your event. The second row shows the corresponding time and date in Tokyo. Use the reference selector to convert in the other direction.
Why the date matters
Los Angeles follows Pacific Time: UTC−8 in standard time and UTC−7 during daylight saving time. Events in Asia may fall on the following calendar day, so check the date as well as the hour.
Tokyo follows Japan Standard Time, UTC+9, throughout the year. Japan does not currently observe daylight saving time. The difference from cities that change their clocks can still vary by season.
Winter and summer comparison
These examples compare the same instant (12:00 UTC) on two dates. They are examples, not a fixed year-round time difference.
